Biography
The late Madam Ophelia Ofeibia Ribeiro was born on 25th January 1953 to the late Mr. George Amoo Ribeiro (Nii Oto Din) and Madam Leticia Lekia Nelson, both of blessed memory. She was the fifth of six children and was affectionately known as O.O. Ribeiro, Ophy, Aunty Ago, among other endearing names.
She began her education at New Era School. Following her schooling, she worked with a shop owner at Korle Bu, then moved on to Cadbury Ghana Ltd., and later joined the General Post Office as a mail sorter.
Later, Madam Ophelia worked with Aunty Dede of Rumill at Charles Lane, where she specialized in catering services. In 1973, she married Mr. Ebenezer Kpakpo Cofie of GTV, and their marriage was blessed with four children.
In 1984, the family relocated to Tamale in the Northern Region, leaving behind extended family in Accra. They returned to Accra in 1989. Madam Ophelia was a hardworking and dedicated woman, held in high esteem by her in-laws for her warmth and commitment to family life. She devoted herself fully to the welfare and education of her husband, children, and grandchildren.
In 1990, the family joined the Mount Calvary Cross Ministry at Odorkor. A deeply religious woman, she actively served in the prayer force at Peniel Chapel, Mataheko, and later at Rhema Chapel, Manhean. Her Christian faith guided every aspect of her life. She was a spiritual matriarch who instilled discipline, moral values, and a strong sense of responsibility in her children and grandchildren.
Until her passing, the family resided in Ablekuma - Manhean.
We are forever grateful to the Lord for the life of Madam Ophelia Ofeibia Ribeiro—a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her legacy of faith, service, and love continues to inspire us.
